This is a very popular appetizer in Jordan. It contains tomatoes, green chili, onion, and spices. The way its eaten is by dipping the pita bread into the dish. You can also enjoy this with other dishes such as scrambled eggs, hummos and/or falafel .

Tomatoes in a pan :

2-3 Tablespoons of olive oil
1 onion diced
3-4 garlic minced
4-5 tomatoes (peeled & remove seeds)
2-3 green chili’s chopped
2 teaspoons of tomato paste

In a pan add the olive oil once its hot add the onion and cook until onions are softened. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the tomatoes and chili cover with a lid until the tomatoes start to release its own juice .Add Tomato paste mix and cook for another 3-4 minutes . Serve with pita bread

You can find this type of bread in every middle eastern house hold , its great for dipping hummos , cheese , etc..

and great for sandwiches , you can find this in any bakery but nothing  beats home made bread , not only will your house smell amazing it tastes incredible . I hope you will give it a try


1 cup of warm water
1 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of yeast
4 cups of flour
2 cups of wheat flour
2 tablespoons of powder milk
1 teaspoon of baking powder
2 teaspoons of salt
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

In a small bowl Add  warm water and sugar, mix in the yeast . Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes.
In a separate large bowl add the all purpose 
 flour and wheat flour , powder milk , baking powder and salt . Mix well
Slowly add the yeast mixture in the flour mixture , add in the oil , Knead the dough either on a machine or by hand until nice and smooth. Add oil in a bowl cover the dough with a little of oil and cover place in room temperature for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Cut the dough into equal parts i got 10 , place on a baking tray cover for another 30-40 minutes.

Preheat oven to the highest temperature , and with a rolling pin flatten out the dough into round shapes and place  the oven for 6-7 minutes don’t forget to flip it on the other side once its golden
